I know I’ve written about Hamilton Pool several times, but this article is looking at it from a different angle – I’m focusing on the breathtaking, 70+ foot-tall waterfall that cascades into the pool from the limestone overhang above. Hamilton Pool is essentially a waterfall that you can swim in, and lucky for us, Texas weather allows us to enjoy it all year long.
Not only does this mystical underground grotto already transport you into a Disney movie, but you can even swim right underneath its towering waterfall.

The water’s grace and elegance as it pours from the limestone overhang into the awaiting pool is so great, it’s almost otherworldly.

One of my favorite things to do is sit on the rock under the falls and let the water envelop me. There are few feelings on earth quite as tranquilizing and peaceful as that.

It’s like the waterfall is a wall - you’re on one side, and all the problems ailing your mind are on the other.

This time of year is the ideal time to go because most people don’t associate the holiday season with water activities, so the crowd will be minimal.

Just look at that gorgeous stream. Have you ever seen anything so beautiful?

You’ll feel rejuvenated when you swim in the pristine water of the pool, nourished by the constant pouring of the cleansing falls.

Close your eyes and let the sound of rushing water be all you know in that moment. You’d be surprised how renewed your mind will feel afterwards.

Luckily, the park is open year-round, so it’s always a good time to revel in the beauty that is the Hamilton Pool waterfall.

That being said, the falls aren’t always flowing heavily, so calling ahead to see what state they’re in would definitely be a wise course of action.
