Here in Montana, we can all appreciate a nice, relaxing swim in a pool, especially whenever the weather is warm. We also know that nothing tops jumping into a cold, natural swimming hole after a lengthy hike or a long day. One of these great swimming holes is Yaak Falls. To find Yaak Falls in Montana, you’ll have to head to the northwest corner.

The Yaak Valley sits tucked up in Northwest Montana, less than 50 miles from the Canadian border.

You’ll actually find several spots in this area that are great for swimming, but the most popular swimming hole sits near the Yaak River Falls Campground.

Despite this place’s natural scenic beauty and perfect swimming spots, you’ll rarely see a big crowd here.

Deciding to come here takes a real commitment no matter what part of the state you call home. That being said, you’ll want to come during the week if you’re hoping for solitude. The earlier in the day you come, the better.
