When it comes to must-visit towns in Mississippi, Woodville should be at the top of your list. The quintessential small town is overflowing with charm. Incorporated in 1811, Woodville is one of the oldest towns in the state. Luckily, there are plenty of chances to learn about the area’s history thanks to not one, but two, museums.

The museums, which are both housed in historic buildings that date back to the 1800s, are filled with photos and artifacts. And since they’re located near each other, you can easily visit both museums.
Woodville is also home to the Rosemont Plantation – the childhood home of Jefferson Davis.
Epling Epling/Google Rosemont was built by Jefferson Davis’ parent in 1810. The home apparently left an impact on Davis; when speaking of Rosemont, he’s said, “It was here that my memories began.” Visit today and you can learn all about the plantation’s past thanks to knowledgeable tour guides.
