South Carolina’s only ocean tunnel provides a chance for a close encounter with creatures from the sea as you can often come face-to-face with sharks and more. Of course, we’re talking about the famously popular Dangerous Reef experience found at Ripley’s Aquarium in Myrtle Beach along with a number of other key ocean-centric attractions to enjoy on your visit like the Living Gallery and the Ray Bay.
But the primo display at this Myrtle Beach aquarium is without a doubt the 340-foot tunnel that’s longer than a football field and takes you on a walk under the sea.

From the sawfish and it’s saw-shaped nose to the giant green sea turtle and even green moray eels (and more), you’ll be amazed by the sheer number of species in this oddly-shaped tank that has a tunnel through the middle for spectators.
