Between the nonstop traffic and the glowing neon lights, Cleveland can feel like a concrete jungle at times. Sometimes city residents can’t help but long for a rural escape… something that can, fortunately, be found in the less developed portions of Cuyahoga County and neighboring communities like Summit and Geauga Counties. Whether you’re in search of stunning views, fresh produce, or an opportunity to explore our region’s agricultural roots, you will find it at this one lamb farm near Cleveland. Bring a camera, because this trip is one you’ll want to remember.

Welcome to The Spicy Lamb Farm!

The Spicy Lamb Farm/Facebook Since the 1800s, this property (which formerly existed in Boston Township but has since been absorbed by the Village of Peninsula) has hosted gorgeous farmland. The Garvey family originally owned the landscape, having purchased it sometime in the late 19th century. Amazingly, there’s no evidence that the Garvey family ever actually farmed the landscape… though it’s possible it was leased to tenant farmers.

As time marched on, this site would host pastures, gardens, an orchard, and a vineyard before being acquired by the Cuyahoga Valley National Park in 1977.
