One of the most fascinating places to visit in the world is Stonehenge. We still don’t know much about who exactly created this circle of stones back in prehistoric times, and there is definitely an eerie vibe to this beautiful site. But you don’t have to travel to Europe to get a Stonehenge vibe. In fact, there is an ancient rock ring in Oregon, too, that has, in some ways, a similar feel.
Fort Rock is one of the strangest, most surreal sites in Oregon.

What is a tuff ring, exactly? A low-standing volcano with wide, bowl-shaped craters.

You can see the fort resemblance better from up above. Much like Stonehenge, there’s something mysterious and almost alien about this rock formation.
