Brevard, North Carolina September 23, 2022 Chris Dodge What is there to do around Brevard, North Carolina? The small town of Brevard, North Carolina, has a lot of small-town charm. The surrounding area of Brevard has some amazing things that you really should try when you are in the area. Nearby Looking Glass Falls is an amazing fiercely-flowing waterfall. You can get to the base of the falls right from the road. Take a flight of stairs down and then walk on a couple of rocks and you are right at the base of this incredible waterfall. The mist and spray make it a fun way to view the falls. Down the road, you can also visit Moore Cove Falls. This waterfall is at the end of a family-friendly hike and leads you to a unique waterfall where you can walk behind the falls. It is a great way to get wet, take some pictures, and enjoy a nice hike with your family. Continuing down the road you can visit the Cradle of Forestry. This is an interesting place that merges the love of nature preservation and the history of the area. There is an interactive visitor center and lots of fun things to do on-site. Then, of course, if you travel just a little bit further, you will find your way to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The section close to Brevard is one of the prettiest with some incredible overlooks showcasing multiple mountain layers. It is a must-see place for anyone who can appreciate North Carolina’s beauty.
