Summer is just around the corner, which means fun in the sun and swimming! What if we told you to skip the beach and head to a waterfall swimming hole in Massachusetts instead? That may be an unconventional thought for those of us who live in a state that’s home to some of the best beaches in the country. Umpachene Falls Park in New Marlborough may be small, but it’s packed with plenty of scenery including a waterfall. At just five acres, you can hike to and take a dip in a waterfall swimming hole.

To visit, you must be a resident of New Marlborough or be a guest of someone who is. However, you may be able to talk your way in if the groundskeeper is there and you promise to respect the park.
