To reach the Peaks Of Otter Recreation Area, you’ll exit the Blue Ridge Parkway near Milepost 86.

Once there, you’ll find today’s feature destination: a paved trail in Virginia that takes you around Abbott Lake.

This gentle trail is mostly paved aside from a few boardwalk sections that are at least four feet wide. The total loop is just under a mile.
