Shenandoah National Park is known for its jaw-dropping scenery, and Hawkbill Summit might just be one of the most beautiful overlooks in the park.

There are a couple of different ways to get to this overlook on the Appalachian Trail, but the most direct is the 1.5-mile Hawksbill Summit Trail. It’s a bit steep on your way up, but overall, a fairly moderate trek.

Upon reaching the top, you’ll be dazzled by the panoramic views. The trail takes most hikers just over an hour to complete, but you’ll want to allow extra time to marvel at the scenery.
