It’s a repurposed restaurant in Indiana that serves up great bar food, delectable steaks and chops, and to-die-for drinks. What was it originally? A library. Once upon a time, this was Carmel’s public library.

Woody’s Carmel The building was constructed in 1913 and dedicated in 1914. In 1972, it was purchased by the town of Carmel and turned into a courthouse and offices for a while.

In 1998, though, the entire building was repurposed into a bar and grill: Woody’s Library Restaurant was officially born, and to this day, it’s a favorite among locals.

You can take your pick between bar food classics like wings and beer, or maybe go for the tried-and-true Indiana favorite: the deliciously juicy breaded pork tenderloin.

There’s also lots of lighter fare, like soups, salads, and sandwiches - all of which are just as fresh and delicious as the steaks, seafood, and chops.
