While the trains in Arkansas offer various excursions, there is only one that takes you on a journey on top of a mountain peak. And that is the Rich Mountain Miniature Train. Hop on board and take a ride while basking in the gorgeous Arkansas fall foliage.

Cradled at the top of Rich Mountain inside Queen Wilhelmina State Park is the only miniature train excursion in the state of Arkansas.

Mitch Tillison/Google Originally known as the Glory Train, this 1952 vintage ride has been operating for over 60 years. The excursions run from Friday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. And for a small fee, you can take part in the journey.

It’s a two-mile excursion that travels around the park, while you witness sweeping scenic vistas of the Ouachita Mountains.

The excursion operates throughout the year, but the views are the most spectacular during the autumn season.

Additionally, you could possibly see some of the wildlife roaming atop of the mountain.

Though the excursion is short, lasting approximately 30 minutes, the rewards are amazing. And the kids will be excited about riding on a miniature train on top of a mountain.
