In Northwest Oregon, there is a marvelous, man-made lake that’s truly one of the best hidden gem swimming holes in Oregon.

This is Henry Hagg Lake, a 1,153-acre lake that’s a favorite for many people wishing to take a refreshing dip in its crisp, cool, cerulean-blue waters.

This lovely lake was actually man-made in the 1970s. The reservoir is an impoundment of Scoggins Creek, which drains a small portion of the eastern side of the Northern Oregon Coast Range.

The lake, which has an average depth of 51 feet, is comprised of two sections: one for swimming and one for motorized vessels, which keeps each area safe for its respective recreation.
