But there’s something particularly special about camping at a campground in Connecticut. Sure, the luxury that can be found in some hotels is phenomenal, but campgrounds offer an opportunity to get in touch with nature that you won’t find at even the most unique of hotels. One of our favorite campgrounds in Connecticut is the magical Riverdale Farm Campsite. This place is so charming, with gorgeous natural surroundings, perfect amenities, and so many friendly faces to meet.
Riverdale Farm Campground has an amazing location right on a 100-acre farm. The campground is tucked away right beside the Hammonasset River.

The campground offers plenty of lots, with electrical hook-ups available so you won’t be roughing it too much.

There are cabins and even a couple of campers for rent if you’re new to camping and don’t own a motorhome or camper yourself.

You’ll find a playground and plenty more to entertain the kids, and most weekends have scheduled events.

With both a swimming pond and fishing areas, there are even a few waterfront spots available.
