Family-friendly fall events in Connecticut are great, but if you prefer the spooky and scary side of autumn, we’ve got you covered! There are several great haunted houses in the Nutmeg State. One of our favorite haunted attractions is Nightmare Acres in South Windsor. Depending on how easily you’re spooked, you may find it to be a bit of creepy fun or utterly horrifying, but either way, you’re sure to have a blast! Are you brave enough to explore this house of horrors?

Nightmare Acres is a haunted outdoor trail that’s held on weekends throughout October. Make sure to dress accordingly, since the entire event takes place outside.

Most visitors find this place delightfully spooky. Actors are running around the site before you even get inside of the trail, so you’ll be in the mood for frights before you’ve even gotten started.

Note that the attraction is not recommended for kids under 16, so unless you have very brave kids, you might want to leave them at home for this one.

There are food trucks, tarot readers, and even a booze truck on site.

The entire walk-through lasts about 30-45 minutes.

Looking to make the experience even more terrifying? Visit on a touch night, when the actors are allowed to touch the visitors!

There are a limited number of tickets sold each night, so it’s highly recommended to buy your tickets in advance.
