We love unique places to stay in Connecticut. After all, if you’re planning a getaway (or staycation) to the Nutmeg State, you want your overnight accommodations to be just as spectacular as the rest of your trip. Sure, you can stay in a boring chain motel, but why would you want to when there are so many great alternatives? One spot that we think is a pretty unique Airbnb in Connecticut is the listing for a barn room at Southwood Alpacas. That’s right, you can spend the night right on a farm surrounded by some of the cutest animals around.
This tranquil spot is tucked away in Woodstock. It’s one of the largest towns in Connecticut’s northeastern corner, but the population is still only around 9,000 people.
Jeff/Airbnb This area is called Connecticut’s Quiet Corner due to the fact it’s less busy than areas closer to the shore. However, it’s a lovely region with beautiful pastoral landscapes and it’s a great part of the state for some peace and quiet.
The renovated two-story guest unit features a kitchenette, living area, bathroom, and queen bed.

There’s a television and Wi-Fi here…

But honestly, we’d rather just disconnect and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

The alpacas are just outside your guest house. You can observe these cute fuzzy creatures from the bedroom window or one of the two decks.

You won’t get much more of a country living vibe than this.
Jeff/Airbnb The property is great because you aren’t too far from local restaurants and stores if you’d like to go into town, but if you prefer to stay on the farm, it’s pure peace and quiet.
We could all use a little rest and relaxation every once in a while, so check out this alpaca farm getaway next time you need a place to stay for a few days!
