This spot was once the largest psychiatric hospital on the planet, with nearly 12,000 patients. Some people love creepy stories, and believe there are ghosts and hauntings just about anywhere, but even a skeptic has to admit that this hospital has a spooky vibe to it. Unfortunately, mental health was a very misunderstood field when Central State Hospital was at its heyday, and many patients suffered unspeakable tortures here.
