With more than 1,600 miles of shoreline around the entire lake, just 45 of those miles belong to Indiana. But you know what? We rock it anyway. There are some truly amazing maritime towns in Indiana along the shores of Lake Michigan, and the beaches on Lake Michigan (especially Indiana’s) are simply breathtaking. There are all kinds of amazing things to do in Indiana on and nearby the lake, and of course, some of Indiana’s best hiking trails can be found here as well. It’s an outdoorsy person’s dream come true!   What are the great lakes in Indiana?   When it comes to the literal Great Lake of the United States, the only one Indiana has any claim to is Lake Michigan. Of course, this doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of other great lakes in Indiana in terms of, well, literal greatness. Check out some of the most amazing Indiana lakes as soon as you get a moment, like the beautiful, one-of-a-kind Monroe Lake, where you can go fishing, boating, hiking, camping, and more.
