In order to compile the following list of the most dangerous cities in Texas, a number of factors were taken into consideration: cities with a population of over 5,000 were analyzed in order to find the highest crime rates, using FBI data for violent crimes and property crimes. In total, the second largest state in the country in both area and population ranks well above the national average; and overall, Texas is ranked as the 15th most dangerous state in the country. Respectively, you have a 1% and 4% chance of falling victim to either within city limits.
