The Omni Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods was built in 1900 Joseph Stickney. It was called the Mount Washington Hotel then. Doors were officially opened to guests in 1902, but by this time Stickney had grown quite ill. He died a short time later.

His wife Carolyn re-married a European prince rather quickly, but she herself passed away in 1936.
