Covering an area of just 38 acres, it’s considered one of the smallest state parks in the New Hampshire parks system. But, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t offer plenty to experience!

The park sits right on 2,000-acre Lake Francis which means you’ll have water views just about anywhere you are.

The summer is a great time to visit, but don’t count out the other seasons! Autumn is beautiful and since the park is open through mid-October there’s a good chance you’ll be able to see changing foliage.

Lake Francis State Park can be visited year-round, but the main season is from mid-May to mid-October. This is when all facilities are open and you’ll find the open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The park may close from time-to-time during the on-season so be sure to check the official New Hampshire State Park website before visiting. During the off-season, from November to May, comfort stations are not open and the park is not staffed.

No matter when you come, you’ll find a less-crowded state park in New Hampshire that’s worth the visit.
The park also has a campground with 45 sites that can be reserved here. Nine of these sites have hook-ups for water and electric and nine sites are designated for ATVs.
