Located near Scotts Mills, the Butte Creek Falls hike is a 1.1-mile loop trail that winds through lovely forest scenery past two majestic waterfalls. This short, easy excursion is a great day trip the whole family will enjoy.

Starting at the Butte Creek Falls Trailhead, this lovely trail meanders along a picturesque creek through the woods, soon passing a fork that leads down to the breathtaking Upper Butte Creek Falls.

This graceful 20’ waterfall pours over a rock ledge into a glittering blue basin.

Often, you can walk along the edge of the basin all the way to the underside of the waterfall for an especailly unique vantage point.

Continuing along the trail, you’ll soon reach another fork that’ll lead you to a cliff overlooking the second waterfall: Butte Creek Falls. This lovely waterfall is 85’ tall, and it sure is a sight to behold.

When you’re ready to head back, simply continue along the trail and soon you’ll loop back to the trailhead and parking lot.
