We don’t always have to crack open a book or spend a day at a nearby museum to get a glimpse into Pennsylvania’s rich history. Sometimes the history is right in our backyard. This scenic trail in Pennsylvania, for example, will take you past the three remaining locks – and a tunnel – of a historic canal. Because it earns an easy rating, the picturesque Pennsylvania trail is ideal for hikers of all ages and all skill levels.

You might want to make a day of it when you visit Union Canal Tunnel Park in Lebanon, a 110-park that’s home to a 2.5-mile walking path.
