Wyoming is a hiker’s paradise! That does mean that some trails get crowded in peak hiking season, so we’re always on the lookout for quiet, underrated trails. One often overlooked trail in Albany County offers some of the most beautiful hiking, and it’s hidden just a short while from the popular Turtle Rock Trail. Enjoy the Vedauwoo without fighting the crowds on the Reynolds Hill Loop Trail.
You’ll find this beautiful, underrated trail in the Vedauwoo area of Wyoming, off of I-80 and not far from Laramie.

While the Vedauwoo itself is wildly popular, almost everyone who hikes and climbs here heads right to the Turtle Rock trail, completely overlooking the beautiful Reynolds Hill Loop.

This 4.2-mile trail will take you around two hours to complete, and you’ll face less than 500 feet of elevation gain. That being said, it’s a moderate hike due to the length and the exposure.

Since there is very little shade on the trail, along with wide open meadows, be sure to pack sun protection, extra water, and a windbreaker. You know how those Albany County winds can get!
