What started as a fruit stand during WWII blossomed into the Italian Restaurant after soldiers with Italian heritage that were stationed at nearby Fort Jackson were homesick for their mother’s cooking. Sadie began making spaghetti and meatballs for them and as the demand increased, the business expanded.
