Few fast food restaurants in Georgia are as beloved as Chick-fil-A. This down-home Peach State eatery frequently has drive-thru lines entering the streets, whether you’re in one of our sprawling cities or small towns. Are you familiar with the history of Chick-fil-A? It has actually been serving up chicken sandwiches for over three-quarters of a century! The very first Chick-fil-A opened up in Hapeville way back in 1946, and is still there today. Check it out:

Georgia native S. Truett Cathy opened up his first restaurant, the Dwarf Grill, in Atlanta’s Hapeville neighborhood. The restaurant was small in size but served a full diner menu.

It now features a gorgeous mid-century modern design that retains many aspects of the original restaurant. It is now about twice the size that it originally was and has a full-service dining room and mobile order pickup area.

The Dwarf House has an expanded menu compared to most Chick-fil-A restaurants.
