Here in Northern California, we know a thing or two about good seafood. However, don’t expect to find the best seafood in a big chain restaurant. Rather, you’re more likely to find it in a hole-in-the-wall restaurant that really doesn’t look like much. Spud Point Crab Company in Bodega Bay is one of these hole-in-the-wall restaurants. While the seafood at this dining establishment is going to make your mouth water, it is the clam chowder that you’ll constantly find yourself craving.
The Spud Point Crab Company first opened its doors in 2004. This family-owned and operated business doesn’t really look much on the outside — it is a true hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Bodega Bay. However, it truly is a beloved restaurant and a hidden gem in Northern California.

This seafood restaurant was opened by Tony Anello, an experienced fisherman, and his family. His wife and daughters manage the inside of the restaurant, while Tony and his sons catch fresh crab and wild king salmon from their fishing boats.

The Spud Point Crab Company is certainly not large and is only a few hundred square feet in size. However, the building isn’t what will capture your attention – it is the food.

Although, the one food item we highly recommend at Spud Point Crab Company? The Clam Chowder! This seafood restaurant serves arguably the best clam chowder in all of Northern California. In fact, it has won awards, and many people refer to it as “addicting.”

This isn’t your average clam chowder either. Each cup is packed full of clams and lots of flavor. It’s the perfect meal no matter the time of the day.
