Located in the northern part of the state, Aberdeen Lake is on the Tenn-Tom Waterway.

The 4,100-acre lake is the highlight of the Blue Bluff Recreation Area, which is in the small town of Aberdeen.

A must-visit for outdoor lovers, it’s touted as one of the most scenic recreation areas on the waterway.

And it definitely lives up to its reputation. The area is named for Blue Bluff, a clay and limestone formation that towers above the lake.

And then, of course, there’s the lake itself. Its pristine waters are perfect for a wealth of activities.

You can swim at the lakeside beach, cast a reel from the fishing dock, or journey off shore in search of a brag-worthy catch.

The sandy beach is a great choice for swimmers of all skill levels. Not only is the water calm, but free lifejackets are provided.

The grounds boast lots of other amenities too, such as a volleyball court, picnic area with a pavilion, and a playground.

There’s also a campground with nearly 100 campsites.
