The Appalachian Trail is one of the most famous trails in the country. You might not be up for hiking the entire 2,190-mile trek, but there is a nearby trail that intersects with the Appalachian Trail that is more manageable for the average hiker. The Jarrard Gap Trail is an incredibly beautiful trail of moderate difficulty that looks like something out of a fairy tale. It’s one of our favorite hikes in Georgia. Stream crossings, wildflowers, log bridges, stone steps: there’s so much to see here, no matter what time of year it is. This is one trail you won’t want to miss!
The trail is a 6.5-mile loop trail that can be enjoyed throughout the year.
Robert Reif/Alltrails Technically, the Jarrard Gap portion of the trail is only about 1.5 miles, but most opt for the more scenic 6.5-mile route that includes a small section of the Appalachian Trail and then the Slaughter Creek Trail.
