Nestled into the lush Mt Hood National Forest is a beautiful, 120-foot hidden gem called Ramona Falls. This gorgeous waterfall cascades ethereally over a unique, moss-covered rock wall into a crystal clear stream — and it’s perfectly picturesque.
Ramona Falls can be reached on a scenic 7-mile loop hike through the woods.

You’ll pass trickling streams, old growth trees, ancient mossy meadows, and more. The hike is moderately easy, although there’s one place where you’ll have to make a tricky (and potentially dangerous) river crossing. You may want to bring an extra pair of shoes/socks in case you get wet.

About half-way through the hike, you’ll cross a wooden foot bridge and suddenly you’ll be standing in front of the amazing, 120-foot Ramona Falls.

On a sunny day, light streams through the curtain of foliage and spreads its rays dramatically over the lush cascade. It looks just like something from a fairy tale.

The trail is open year round, but it’s best done from late spring to early fall. In the winter it’s beautiful as well, you’ll just want to come prepared for harsher conditions and a harder river crossing.
