One thing we can all agree upon is there’s certainly no shortage of waterfront dining in South Carolina. But not all water views are the same – and neither is the food. Welcome to the only smokehouse and BBQ joint on Edisto Island, the Briny Swine – where the view rivals the food and both are simply spectacular.

If it’s been a while since you day tripped over to Edisto for a meal and some sun, then perhaps it’s time to head back over and explore the surf and sand for the day and then head over to the Briny Swine.

It’s located at the confluence of Big Bay Creek and the South Edisto River right where the bigger of the two meets the ocean. And these views are second to none.

Briny Swine brings something new to Edisto besides its smokehouse allure: it also combines fresh, slow-cooked BBQ (the “swine”) with oyster selections (the “brine”).

The menu showcases delicious creations featuring pulled pork, smoked wings, ribs, brisket, and more.

Over at the raw bar oysters are the name of the game — but there’s a twist. Get the daily selection raw or roasted OR opt for a little something different. The Ahi Tuna Oysters are a great choice or you can stick with the BBQ theme and get BBQ Roasted Oysters smothered in Creole BBQ Butter.

Sandwich selections are BBQ and seafood themed. The Oyster Po’Boy (pictured) is stuffed to the gill with fried oysters and all the fixins'.

There’s also a Fried Catfish Po’Boy that folks can’t stop raving about. Burgers, shrimp rolls, and more round out the menu.
