The park is nestled in a valley brimming with wooded hills. At the center of the park, there’s a 15-acre spring-fed lake.

At one time, Golden Memorial State Park included a campground; however, it’s now a “day-use only” park.

Just because the campground is no more, it doesn’t mean the park doesn’t have any amenities to offer visitors.

In addition to picnic tables and picnic pavilions, the grounds feature BBQ grills and a playground.

There’s also a nature trail. Dubbed the Loblolly Trail, the wooded path winds through a forest of loblolly pines – one of which is the second-largest in the state.
