Waterfront living is ubiquitous in Oregon, with the Columbia River providing the perfect place to dock. And just outside of Portland, in the shadow of Mt. Hood, Hayden Island is a popular place for houseboats and floating homes. But the surprising thing about Hayden Island, is that it’s actually an island… inside of Oregon!

You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, either. Feeling brunchy? Breakfast is served until 10 a.m. on the weekdays and 11 a.m. on the weekends. This is the Chicken Fried Steak, which features two eggs, sausage gravy, home fries, and toast.

The restaurant is closed for lunch, but reopens for dinner service each night from 5-9 p.m. The Hawaiian Burger a fan favorite, and offers a delicious taste of the islands, right here in the Pacific Northwest.

Happy hour might be our favorite time to visit Jantzen Beach Bar & Grill, however. With a salty margarita or mint mojito in hand, we could sit and savor these views all night!
