The following villages, towns and cities have the highest crime index in all of Ohio, according to 2010-2014 local crime data and rankings from USA.com. Please note: The national average crime index is 1,669.05 and Ohio’s average crime index is 1,691.16.

Wikimedia Commons With a population of just 190, this Cuyahoga County village has a high crime index of 7,429. Linndale’s population has grown by 62.39 percent since the year 2000.

Erik Drost/Flickr As one of Ohio’s largest cities with a population of 392,114, it’s not a big surprise to see Cleveland on this list. Its crime index is 4,807, and in 2014 the city had more than 10,000 thefts, 462 rapes and 63 murders.
