SUP Kentucky also now offers a crystal clear kayak tour and there’s no other experience like it in the Bluegrass.

Choose from a single or tandem kayak and feel as if you’re floating right in the water, yet you’ll magically stay dry! The cave stays consistently in the 50s all year long, so this adventure is even available in the winter. (Don’t worry; it’s very rare for someone to fall in the water!)

Ages 8 and up can be in their own kayak and ages 3-7 can ride with an adult. Your guides will provide everything you need for the float; you’ll just need to be dressed appropriately.

Kentucky Cave Kayaking September 29, 2022 Sarah M. What’s the best place for kayaking in Kentucky? For outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy kayaking, there’s a splendid little lake that’s simply perfect for water-bound adventures — and it’s one you may never have even heard of. Grayson Lake is the best kayaking lake in Kentucky and it’s absolutely worth checking out for your next adventure! Grayson Lake is located between Lexington and the West Virginia border and is peak Bluegrass State beauty. The area was originally a favorite site of the Shawnee and Cherokee Indians. Today, Grayson Lake State Park is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, particularly kayakers. In fact, this Kentucky lake is considered by many paddlers to be the best blueway east of the Mississippi, and having kayaked there many times ourselves, we can attest to this lake’s amazingness.  What are some other cave adventures I can have on the water in Kentucky? If cave kayaking floats your boat (we had to!), you’ll definitely want to try stand-up paddle boarding … in a cave! Another adventure offered through SUP Kentucky, we are big fans of the Mine Glow Adventure in Red River Gorge, as it takes cave exploration to a whole other level – a subterranean level, that is. On this hour-long expedition, visitors get to paddle through an abandoned limestone mine to an underground waterfall! This is easily the most unique way to experience Red River Gorge. And while this in and of itself is a thrilling adventure, SUP Kentucky just added another fantastic feature to this tour with its clear stand-up paddle boards. Now, adventurers can feel as though they are literally walking on water while exploring an underground cave in the heart of Red River Gorge. Talk about an experience for your Bluegrass bucket list!
