If you’re looking for a boardwalk trail in Massachusetts that leads through a beautiful location, head to the town of Eastham and stroll along the Red Maple Swamp Trail.

Head to Red Maple Swamp in Eastham and you’ll find a lovely boardwalk trail to take a stroll. The total length of the swamp trail is 0.8 miles and will take, at most, 45 minutes to complete.

As the name suggests, this area is home to a swamp filled with red maple trees. Start your journey along the Fort Hill Trail for about 0.1 miles. You will then veer off onto the Red Maple Swamp Trail.

The trail starts off as dirt but you will continue the trek onto the elevated boardwalk sections when you get into the center of the swamp.

When the trail loops toward the Fort Hill Trail, you’ll have the opportunity to stop and view Indian Rock. When you read the interpretive sign, you’ll learn all about its history.
