Check out Swallow Falls State Park this summer to hike, take in the scenery, and cool off among nature. When you do visit, you’ll definitely want to make your first stop this beautiful swimming hole in Maryland.

Swallow Falls State Park is located in western Maryland. In fact, it’s about as far west as you can go in the state.

There’s a trail between the two that’s perfect for a scenic hike. The best part is that it’s only a little over a mile in length, although it is a bit bumpy. Be on the lookout for boulders and logs.

You’ll also pass by some of the oldest trees in the state, dating back 300+ years. Be sure to look up and snap a photo or two.
