St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral is one of the younger religious structures in Greater Cleveland.

The groundbreaking began on the building in 1982 and was completed in 1985.

Ray Meyer/Google Images The building was planned by local architects as a fusion of the past and the future, to celebrate the longevity of Christianity as well as its upcoming 1,000 year anniversary in Ukraine. As a result, onion domes and iconostasis adorn a sturdy building of modern brick.

Once the building was completed, locals were instantly charmed by its heavenly atmosphere.

And even after construction ended, the improvements never stopped.

In addition to religious ceremonies and breathtaking architecture, this cathedral also helps the community carry on tradition.
