Spring House, also known as Lewis Spring House, is an engineering and architectural marvel designed back in the 1950s by Frank Lloyd Wright.

As Wright’s only designed private residence in Florida, this “pod-shaped” house is such a unique “hemicircle” shape, it’s only one of two of its kind.

The “hemicircle” is both concentric and intersecting circles that end up resembling a boat. Pair that with the unique wooden features, this marvel is really something to be seen in person.

Lewis Spring House was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on February 14, 1979. Today, visitors are able to take a tour of the property on certain days.

The Spring House Institute, Inc., which was formed by the family, hopes to restore the property with the help of the public, in order to preserve the legacy of both the Lewis Family and Wright.
