There’s a saying that life is better on the water. Just being by water for many people is quite calming and seems to work wonders at soothing the soul. If you’re in need of some stress relief and an escape to nature, perhaps spending the day at the lake in Massachusetts will do the trick. Cochituate Lake, in particular, is one body of water that has the ability to make your stress and worries disappear, at least for a little while.

Cochituate State Park is 872 acres and features the pristine Cochituate Lake. This lake is formed by three ponds that are linked together.

If you absolutely feel the need to be by or on a peaceful body of water, Cochituate Lake is perfect. This 625-acre lake offers a wonderful place to escape the grind of daily life for a few hours.

At Cochituate State Park, there are plenty of recreational activities you can partake in. How about hiking one of the park’s trails or fishing or swimming in the lake?

But if you would rather be on the water, you can always hop aboard a boat and explore the lake that way. Only no-motorized boats are allowed at Cochituate Lake, so you are guaranteed some peace and quiet.

You can bring your own canoe, kayak, sailboat, SUP board, or other non-motorized boat or rent one from the Natick Boathouse.
