Many have likely wondered, “How did Warm Springs, Virginia get its name?” The answer is fairly simple: the presence of the nearby warm springs.

The natural mineral water present in Warm Springs as well as the surrounding Bath County is famous for its healing properties. The water is infused with minerals, and scientists estimate that humans have been “taking the waters” for nearly 9,000 years!

Perhaps the most famous attraction in Warm Springs is a bathhouse known as Jefferson Pools. The oldest thermal spa in the country, these bathhouses are currently being renovated and will be re-opened as the Warm Springs Pools, operated by the Omni Homestead Resort.
