Shorty’s first opened in Wake Forest way back in 1916 when H. Joyner opened the doors to affordable dining nearly all families could indulge in on the regular.

And 106 years later, the fourth generation of the Joyner family still owns and runs the family business — which, by the way — is still one of the most affordable places to dine in the entire greater Raleigh area.
