Not only does this historic trail feature unique natural attractions along the way, but it also happens to lead to a breathtaking overlook. You can start your adventure at the Tough of Natural Trail Parking Lot, photographed below. From there, you can take a quick detour to the Rocky Gap Overlook Trail to admire the canyon.

From the paved road, it will take approximately five minutes to reach the overlook. You’ll climb a flight of stairs and will shortly arrive at this marvelous overlook. Keep trekking, though, because the view from the mountain summit is arguably even more beautiful!

Continuing along the Evitt’s Mountain Homesite Trail will take you directly to the top.

Prepare to be amazed as you cross over streams, pass through gorgeous hardwood forests, and continue your climb upwards.
