We’re lucky to have tons of epic places to go camping in Arizona, but this particular spot is nestled in a hidden alcove along the Colorado River and offers a picture-perfect destination for your next trip. Tube, swim, boat, or fish in this pristine hidden gem – no matter what you choose to do, you’re sure to have a fun time. After all, it’s one of the best places for tubing in Arizona! Check it out:
River Island State Park is located in western Arizona, right near the border with California. It’s nestled alongside the Colorado River, offering ample space for camping and water recreation.

Both RV and tent campsites are available, several of which have beachfront access, and though there are costs per each type of vehicle, we promise: it’s very affordable!

Reservations can be made online, but do note there is a two-night minimum stay for weekend camping. On Memorial Day, Columbus Day, and Labor Day, three consecutive nights are required to book a spot.

Swimming, fishing, and boating are popular activities on the river. Tucked away in a sandy alcove, the park provides a welcome respite from the summer heat.

For everywhere you’re able to go tubing, there are several places to camp…so start planning your next tubing campground adventure! Where can I go river camping in Arizona? There are many rivers in Arizona with prime camping right alongside them. Check out local favorites like the Clear Creek Campground, in Camp Verde, which is nestled nearby the beautiful Verde River and some of the most beautiful scenery in Arizona. We also really adore Diamond Rock Campground, which is an absolutely splendid camping site nestled right up on the east fork of Arizona’s famed Black River.
