We especially recommend a visit to Driggs, one of the Gem State’s best small towns. Nestled on the western side of the Grand Tetons, this charming little community of often overshadowed by the more popular Jackson, Wyoming. However, we think you’ll see that Driggs, Idaho, has a LOT to offer and you’ll want to explore it all.
Tucked away in the heart of the Teton Valley, Driggs is a quiet little town that’s big on adventure and natural beauty. With the Tetons to the east and the Big Holes on the west, it’s the perfect base camp for an excursion in eastern Idaho.

Although the breathtaking natural scenery may be what brings you to Driggs, it’s the charming small-town atmosphere that will make you stay! Downtown Driggs is quaint but filled with boutique shops, restaurants, and plenty of friendly Idahoans.

You may know Driggs as the home of the famous Spud Drive-In. This drive-in movie theater is a favorite among many for its old-fashioned vibe and, of course, the giant potato out front! No summer in Idaho is complete without a visit to this nostalgic movie-watching spot.

Another unique destination you’ll find only in Driggs is the Warbirds Cafe and Airplane Museum. Here you can enjoy a delicious, farm-to-table meal while watching planes take off and land at the airport.

Of course, it’s the area’s rich natural beauty that makes Driggs a must-visit for any nature lover. Teton Valley Lodge, an all-inclusive fishing resort along the Teton River, is a great place to experience all that the region has to offer.

Our state is filled with many incredible small towns, so we decided to raise the stakes a bit and put together this list of charming small towns in Idaho with amazing downtown districts. Among those listed, Rigby truly is the definition of a charming small town. If you are craving a sweet treat during your visit, we highly recommend the Cookie Cottage or Teton Ice Cream Parlor. At both locations, your taste buds will thank you for visiting. Don’t forget to stop by the Farnsworth TV and Pioneer Museum to learn about the creation of television and some interesting oddities and inventions while you’re there! Another small town in Idaho worth visiting is Wallace. Simply put, this Idaho town is absolutely stunning. From the mountain landscapes to the beautiful downtown area, this is one small town in Idaho you may have a hard time leaving. The entire town is on the National Register of Historic Places but make sure to check out the downtown area to see all that it has to offer.
