Alabama’s Pine Beach Trail is tucked away inside the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge in Gulf Shores.

In terms of difficulty, this 3.5-mile, out-and-back trail has an easy rating, which means it’s great for all skill levels. What makes this coastal trail truly stand out is the fact that is has a saltwater lagoon on one side of it and a freshwater lake on the other.

The Pine Beach Trail attracts people of all ages year round for its wonderful hiking, walking, and birding opportunities. While hiking this trail, you’ll follow a sandy path and hike through a maritime forest.

It won’t take long until the water is in plain view. As you continue hiking along the trail, you’ll start to hike over sand dunes.

You’ll then reach the beach’s waterfront area. Because this area is somewhat secluded, you shouldn’t have to worry about crowds during your visit.
