Wyoming has its share of longstanding family-owned restaurants, but perhaps none is more iconic than Peaches Family Restaurant – formerly known as the Red Barn.

Way back in 1965, the original Red Barn opened in Casper, Wyoming. It was a drive-in burger joint and a small national franchise, and it quickly became the rage in this bustling Wyoming town.

Peaches Family Restaurant By 1971, Bill & Phyllis Douglass had purchased The Red Barn, and they entertained thousands of diners over the next decade. They specialized in serving up fried fish, fried chicken, and burgers.

The Red Barn became Peaches Family Restaurant, and changed hands a few times over the next few decades. In 2016, though, it came back to the Douglass Family. Today, Bill Douglass, Jr. runs the place, with his nephew Chris working by his side.
