Oregon’s beaches are absolute heaven…but we also love the beauty of our majestic Oregon waterfalls. There’s a spot on the coast that brings you the best of both – a pretty, sandy beach with a waterfall flowing right down onto it. Check it out:

Oswald West State Park is a stunning spot on the northern Oregon coast. With 2,484 acres stretching four miles along the coastline, this park has a lot to offer. You’ll find it just 10 miles south of Cannon Beach.

The park offers miles of hiking trails that take you through lush, green forest and along Cape Falcon and Neah-kah-nie Mountain. For a beautiful beach with a waterfall, you’ll want to take the Short Sand Beach Trail.

The Short Sand Beach Trail is an easy half-mile stroll from the parking lot to the beach. Walk through the shady old-growth forest where lush ferns grow alongside the trail and huge cedar, sitka spruce, and western hemlock tower overhead.

You’ll soon come to Short Sand beach. It’s a beautiful, sandy beach that’s popular for picnicking, surfing, and exploring.

Make your way down the beach to the north, where you’ll find Blumenthal Falls - a pretty little waterfall that cascades down the rock right onto the beach.
