There are so many historic places in Georgia where you can enjoy the illustrious past of the Peach State. We’ve got countless great museums, historic homes available for touring, and even restaurants that have been around for practically forever. One of our favorite historic restaurants in Georgia is Savannah’s Crystal Beer Parlor. It’s been around for almost a century! That kind of longevity speaks to quality food and quality service, and that’s certainly what you’ll find at this gem.

What would later become the Crystal Beer Parlor opened up over 100 years ago as the Gerken Family Grocery Store.

In the 1930s, the property was sold and became The Crystal, a restaurant that was one of the first in the country to begin selling alcohol after Prohibition.
