So many waterfalls near me to explore, so little time. Northern California is definitely home to its fair share of glorious cascades. It’s likely you’ve already visited the most famous ones, such as Burney or McCloud Falls. However, there’s an endless number of lesser-known waterfalls that are equally worthy of your attention. The beautiful Frazier Falls is one such underrated waterfall, and you’ll want to be sure to seek it out sometime. Located at the end of an easy, one-mile trail, there’s really no reason not to see this beautiful cascade for yourself!

Hiding within the Plumas National Forest, Frazier Falls is easily one of Northern California’s most majestic cascades.

Courtney Elliott/AllTrails Despite its impressive height, this waterfall is criminally underrated. Plan to see it for yourself via this brief and easy trail, and one of the best waterfall hikes in Northern California.

Accessing the overlook to Frazier Falls is a straightforward adventure. Simply check out the short and sweet Frazier Falls Trail.

Priscilla Joyce/AllTrails The paved, mile-long trail is simple enough to traverse, making it perfect for families and casual hikers, making it one of the best hiking trails with waterfalls in California.

You can find the trailhead by going south from Graegle about one-and-a-half-miles on California State Route 89. Turn right onto Gold Lake Highway, drive for another 1.5 miles and turn left at Frazier Falls Road.

Courtney Elliott/AllTrails You’ll find the trailhead parking area located just four miles down this road.

From the trailhead, you’ll follow the paved path as it leads you through a beautiful forested area. Along the way you’ll cross the gorgeous Frazier Creek at a charming bridge crossing and find yourself completely surrounded by unending views of the surrounding forest.

After walking on the path for a half-mile, you’ll reach the overlook that provides a fantastic view of Frazier Falls cascading into the gorge below.

Bill Matthews/AllTrails At 176-feet-tall, the waterfall is truly an impressive sight!

Even more impressive are the waterfall’s glacial origins.

Austin Villarreal/AllTrails It was ancient glaciers that long ago interacted with the Sierra Nevada’s granite landscape and created so many of the incredible waterfalls you see today.

With so many waterfalls to see in Northern California, finding the next one to explore is always a tough decision.
